Chelsea is trying to keep away from having any big talents with contracts that are up in less than two years.And according to The Athletic, Chilwell is prepared to sign a new four-year contract.
His contract will then be extended through the summer of 2027.
That deters potential interest from Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champion.
According to reports from earlier this year, City has long admired the left-back.
Chilwell, though, is prepared to promise the Blues his long-term future at this point.
Chilwell paid £50 million to transfer from Leicester to the club in 2020, and during his first campaign at Stamford Bridge, he won the Champions League.
He could only make seven Premier League games last season due to a chronic knee problem.
Due to a hamstring issue, Chilwell then missed England’s World Cup appearance.
However, he is now fully recovered and making an impact on the Blues’ disappointing season.
He has made 25 appearances across all competitions this season, starting seven of the past eight Premier League games while contributing four assists and two goals.
