Cameroon Police have launched an investigation into match-fixing allegations leveled against Cameroon Football Federation President Samuel Eto’o.
The former Barcelona and Chelsea striker is said to have played a crucial part in Victoria United’s promotion to the first level in Cameroon.
According to a recent audio leak, the 42-year-old was part of a vast organization that was rigging games in Cameroon’s second division.
According to The Guardian, Cameroonian police are currently investigating many important witnesses associated with the repair organization.
“Don’t worry, we will give you your three points and suspend the referee,” Eto’o was heard saying in the recording recorded by the aforementioned newspaper. Victoria’s nickname, Opopo, must be promoted to the first division. This is our objective. This is the name of our federation. “Victoria United will rise.”
Meanwhile, Eto’o has disputed these charges, claiming that he was speaking with a buddy who invests in football and wants to make his club one of the greatest in Cameroon, and that he simply reassured him by saying that he would have done everything necessary to avoid any refereeing errors against his team.
